Think about your heart for a moment.

It is an incredible, amazing, pump,
that pushes blood though your entire
body every second, minute and hour
of the day.

When you are at rest you have a resting heart rate.

When you run, walk fast, or do any “cardio type” exercise your heart pumps faster.

What does that increased heart rate do to your
body?

Well for one thing, it brings more oxygen to your
cells and tissues…oxygen supplies energy.
Oxygen is also vital to maintaining healthy joints and the
health of trillions of cells of your body.

Think of your body as a car. If you let your car sit in a garage
for months and started it every once in a while, it would
start to rust and wear out for lack of use.

Oxidation will set in and your cars radiator hoses will become
brittle.

Why?

Because no water has been flowing through them
at a steady rate of speed. Your tires will also go bad quickly
because they have not moved…your tires will oxidize and
become brittle.

So Why Do Cardio?

Because we do not want that to happen to us.

We don’t want to rust like the Tin Man in the Wizard
of Oz.

How can we prevent that?

We must move, and move often.

We must increase our heart rate through walking,
or running, or cardio exercise.

Don’t rust like the car.

Move, and move often.

Because it makes you stronger.

Because it will fill you with energy.

Beacuse it is a better, healthier lifestyle than
sitting.

Take long walks.

Do jumping jacks.

Rent an exercise video and do aerobics
while watching it.

Join a gym.

No excuses!

Just Do It!

If you have set a goal to get into great shape this year
then you need the most powerful tools available
to help you get there.

Remember to invest in yourself so that you will be
a better YOU, for the people that need YOU, for the people
that love YOU.
